Mud Resist work On Brown Handwoven Cotton
Cotton is CoolMore Details:
Dabu work from Rajasthan on fine handwoven cottons using natural dyes. Dabu or the mud resist technique is an old one where the fabric is blocked with mud and adhesive paste. Once blocked, the fabric is hand dyed, sometimes several times to achieve the accurate colours. After the dyeing, the fabric is washed to remove the paste. The result is a blocked part forms a contrast pattern since the colour did not reach this part of the fabric.
The Dabu technique, as easy as it seems, needs a lot of precision and technique to ensure the colours do not seep into the blocked area.
This fabric has Dabu and Blockprints done for this happy look.
There are some imperfections and inconsistencies since it is a handcrafted fabric.
Please expect some variation in colours owing to screen calibrations.
